Students embark on SCM Mentorship Scheme 2024/25
The first kick-off meeting of the SCM Mentorship Scheme 2024/25 was successfully held on 18 January 2025. We were thrilled to welcome mentors with diverse backgrounds and mentees to embark on a year-long mentorship journey.
Dr Danny Ho began the meeting with a warm welcome to all mentors and mentees, in particular expressing his gratitude for the generous support that mentors have provided to the SCM Department over the years. He encouraged all mentees to fully engage with the scheme. Following Dr Ho’s remarks, mentors introduced themselves to mentees, fostering a sense of community. An ice-breaking game led by Mr Timothy Chau helped participants get to know one another better.
After the icebreaker, Ms Victoria Lam, a Year-3 BBA-SCM student and also a participant in last year’s scheme, shared her empowering mentoring experience. She emphasized the importance of being proactive in interactions with mentors. Following her insightful sharing, Mr John Chan, Senior Operations Supervisor at Aramex (Hong Kong) Ltd. and a BBA-SCM alumnus, offered practical tips and advice to the mentees based on his years of experience as a mentor.
To express our thankfulness, Dr Danny Ho presented certificates of appreciation and souvenirs to all mentors, acknowledging their unwavering support for the SCM Department. The event concluded with a mentor-mentee exchange session, during which mentees set achievable goals with guidance from their mentors.
Mentoring provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain knowledge, experience, encouragement, and inspiration. We hope that all participants have a fruitful and rewarding mentorship journey ahead.
