SCM Postgraduate Programme Orientation and Cocktail Reception for New Students 2025

The Department of Supply Chain and Information Management hosted its Postgraduate Orientation and Cocktail Reception on 30 August 2025 (Saturday) at the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers. The event welcomed over 70 new students from two taught postgraduate programmes: the first intake of MSc in Digital Innovation and Technology Management (MSc-DITM) and the seventh intake of MSc in Global Supply Chain Management (MSc-GSCM).

Professor Wai-sum Chan, Dean of the School of Decision Sciences, delivered an encouraging welcome speech, providing an overview of the School’s mission and milestones. Following this, Dr Stephen Ng, Head of the Department of Supply Chain and Information Management, officially kicked off the event with warm welcome remarks and led a toasting ceremony with new students, faculty members, and programme advisors.

During the orientation, students received comprehensive briefings on the study plan, programme curriculum, academic regulations, graduation requirements, campus facilities, scholarship opportunities, and professional association memberships. This introduction aimed to equip them with a clear understanding of the academic journey ahead. Additionally, Mr. Joseph Tong, a graduate of the MSc-GSCM Class of 2025, shared his enriching experiences related to his studies and campus life, fostering a sense of anticipation for the new students’ journeys.

The orientation also offered an excellent opportunity for new students to connect with one another through self-introductions and ice-breaking games. Participants engaged enthusiastically, making the event a memorable experience and a delightful start to the upcoming academic year.
