Manager, Corporate Air Product, Morrison Express
2017 BBA-SCM Graduate
Hong Kong, as one of the busiest freight hubs in the world, plays an important role in international logistics and the global supply chain. Oscar, who studied Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Supply Chain Management (BBA-SCM), chose to work as a Management Trainee at C.H. Robinson after graduation. He said, "Every newcomer undergoes training, and I am fortunate to have studied relevant knowledge at my university. I also interned at a local freight forwarding company, which gave me a basic understanding of the workflow, so my colleagues have confidence in handing over tasks to me. During my time as a Management Trainee, I needed to rotate through different departments, including ocean freight, air freight, customer management, human resources, and accounting, which helped me understand the operations of each unit and will be very beneficial for my future work."
Oscar admitted that he experienced a "crossroads in life." "Upon graduation, I received several job offers and was worried about how to choose. At that moment, a professor at my school gave me valuable advice. He suggested that I first work at an international company to understand its scale and operations, and to build an international perspective, which would be greatly beneficial for my future career." He appreciates the small class sizes at his university, which allowed teachers to better understand students' needs.
After that, he worked as a Global Operations Associate at Flexport, a US-based freight forwarding company, where he is responsible for handling operational tasks for clients shipping goods from Asia to the United States. He believes that as a bridge for freight between Hong Kong and the US, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of customs and legal documentation in both regions. "Since the factory shipping dates and times may differ from expectations, we must make immediate shipping adjustments and continuously update the status of the goods to ensure they arrive at their destination on time and smoothly." It is a young and dynamic company that excels in applying technology for new initiatives to enhance work efficiency and accuracy. He believes that the digitization of trade logistics and the automation of processes is an inevitable trend.
Oscar is currently working as Manager, Corporate Air Product (Head Quarter Function) at Morrison Express, mainly responsible for strategic procurement, performance analysis, business process optimization, market analysis, and frequent travel to global stations in Asia, the US, and Europe to address air-related issues and explore new business opportunities. Drawing upon his extensive experience, he underscored the importance of effective time management, enhancing problem-solving and communication skills, and developing social and networking abilities in navigating complex business scenarios. Oscar encouraged students to proactively seek learning opportunities, be modest, and not hesitate to seek help and guidance, demonstrate a professional attitude when interacting with different counterparts, which is crucial for future success.

Jessie Poon
Business Intelligence Analyst, Food Panda

Business Intelligence Analyst, Food Panda
2019 BBA-SCM Graduate
In July 2020, Jessie joined the food delivery platform Foodpanda as a Business Intelligence Analyst, where she is primarily responsible for analyzing big data to improve delivery processes. She hopes to make a name for herself in the e-commerce industry in the future.
She stated that studying the BBA-SCM programme laid a solid foundation for her further studies and career, such as learning to build Excel models and inputting real business data for analysis, which was highly practical. Since she had already mastered relevant technological skills during her university years, pursuing a master's degree was easier for her compared to her classmates: "This definitely adds value to my job search!"
Jessie described the BBA-SCM curriculum as very market-oriented, with instructors discussing the latest business cases with students, allowing her to gain a clear understanding of industry situations. Under the training and professional guidance of her instructors, she even won second place in a project competition. She has also interned at Hactl Air Cargo Terminal, CK, and Chanel, applying what she learned in her work. Additionally, she participated in an exchange programme in South Korea, which broadened her perspective on the industry, including insights into local airport logistics operations.
She advises her junior peers to pay attention to industry news and seize various internship opportunities to build a solid foundation for their future careers.

Jessica Chan

2016 BBA-SCM Graduate

Senior Business Analysis Specialist, Lenovo PCCW Solutions
2016 BBA-SCM Graduate
After graduating from Hang Seng University, Jessica was determined to pursue a career in the information technology industry. She has been working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), providing information system management solutions for various companies to support their daily operations. In this role, she serves as a bridge between corporate clients and IT colleagues.
She chose to enroll in the BBA-SCM programme at Hang Seng University because this course covers knowledge in supply chain management and involves more business and data analysis. She believes that, compared to a pure BBA programme, it will better enhance her competitiveness in the job market.
Jessica is particularly impressed by the "Negotiation Analysis" course. "Each class features different scenarios where students need to negotiate in groups. The professor guides us to understand the key learning points, techniques, and common goals of negotiation. I cherish every class, striving to secure the best outcomes for myself during negotiations!" Later, she participated in an external competition with her classmates, where they had to present based on randomly drawn topics, testing their on-the-spot performance. "We competed with other universities and performed admirably, winning the first runner-up position. The school is very supportive to students on maximizing their potential."
Reflecting on her entry into the industry, she believes her background in ERP topics and business studies played a significant role. Understanding the entire logistics and supply chain operations has made it easier for her to grasp the practical workings and approval processes within companies, aiding in adjusting systems to align with business operations.
In her eight years in the industry, the most memorable experience for her was following up on the ERP system for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, which involved many complex supply chain processes. This experience allowed her to gain valuable practical insights in a short time. She also plans to obtain professional certifications relevant to the industry to keep up with the latest developments.

Assistant Manager, DFS Group Limited
2014 BBA-SCM Graduate
Kidman, a 90s-born student, had already set his sights on a career in business during his preparatory studies. He excels in mathematics and science subjects and recognized the promising prospects of a major in Supply Chain Management. He believes that regardless of economic conditions, the industry always needs talent in this area, especially since the trend of data-driven resource allocation in supply chain management is becoming increasingly prevalent.
Among various programmes, he chose the BBA-SCM at his university primarily because the curriculum combines the strengths of both Supply Chain Management and Business Administration. This allows him to gain an in-depth understanding of supply chain technologies while also acquiring knowledge in business management, as well as in fields such as economics, accounting, financial management, corporate management, marketing, and law. Having a solid foundation in business management knowledge has given him a broader understanding of the operations of different departments, enabling him to make more comprehensive suggestions when needed.

After graduating from university, Sarah joined DSV as a Graduate Trainee, primarily responsible for cargo handling (both sea and air freight), operational optimization, and sales. She is now working as Operational Key Account Manager at DSV.
During her BBA-SCM studies, Sarah spent three months in Finland on an exchange programme, where she learnt many new things, such as using biodegradable paper products instead of plastic. Additionally, she interned in the marketing department of a sports tourism company in Australia, which boosted her confidence in her English skills. She also interned in the e-commerce department of a duty-free shop in Hong Kong, gaining experience in warehouse handling procedures.
The most memorable experience for her was the final year project done in her final year of study: "It was the most challenging and flexible project of the four years, requiring detailed analysis of a large amount of data while also testing students' presentation skills."

Business Development Manager, Asia Airfreight Terminal Co. Ltd.
2023 BBA-SCM Graduate
Building dreams in the aviation supply chain with professionalism and passion
Originally planning to study psychology, Celine ended up enrolling in The Hang Seng University’s BBA-SCM Programme by chance. Graduating in 2023, she admits her understanding of supply chains was limited at first, and only after starting the Programme did she realize it spans multiple areas, including production, procurement, transportation, strategy, and operations management. “I enjoy work that’s dynamic and challenging, and supply chain is a field that blends rationality with adaptability.”
In her third year, she chose the Air Transport Stream, hoping to gain deeper knowledge of air freight and airport operations and strengthen her understanding of the global logistics network. She was also placed in a summer internship at a supply chain solutions company, where she was exposed to corporate logistics operations and gained hands-on experience.
A practical and inspiring curriculum; diverse platforms to explore the future
The learning journey at Hang Seng University was both practical and inspiring. The curriculum integrates theory and practice—using virtual reality (VR) to simulate warehouse operations and strategic systems to train decision-making—allowing her to experience management challenges through simulated business scenarios.
Beyond the classroom, she actively engaged in campus and professional activities. She served as a student ambassador and as the emcee for major campus events, and she participated in the 6th International Logistics Case Competition organized by the Hong Kong Logistics Association. She said, “The University offered different platforms for me to try and explore, helping me understand myself better and teaching me how to find direction amid uncertainty.”
Joining the air freight industry; applying what she learned and earning a promotion within a year
After graduation, Celine joined Asia Airfreight Terminal Co. Ltd, an air cargo terminal operator, as a Management Trainee. Thanks to her strong analytical and coordination skills, she was promoted to Business Development Manager upon completion of the one-year trainee programme and now focuses mainly on developing the mainland China market, flexibly applying what she learned in university to real operations. “Air logistics demands speed and precision. Every day feels like solving new challenges, which perfectly reflects the decision-making and adaptability the university cultivated.”
She believes supply chain management is not only a profession but also a forward-looking mindset—one that equips her with the abilities to integrate flexibly, make rapid decisions, and learn continuously, giving her greater confidence to face future challenges.
