Asia Airfreight Terminal
My time at Asia Airfreight Terminal has been an invaluable learning experience. I provided guided tours and shared information about the terminal's operations during the site visits. This experience enhanced my communication and presentation skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the air freight industry.
The practical knowledge and skills I gained complemented theoretical knowledge I learned in class. I witnessed the complexities and intricacies of air cargo operations, including cargo handling procedures, customs regulations, and industry dynamics. This internship has allowed me to bridge the gap between theory and practice, applying my classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. I believe this internship has well-positioned me for my future career and I am excited to apply what I have learned in my future endeavors.

I am part of the Group Supply Chain O+O Project Team, where I worked with Supply Chain Project Managers to observe and understand the supply chain project which streamlines operations by combining offline and online channels. I find this area of supply chain management, which is related to e-commerce, quite new and significantly different from traditional perceptions of operations. I enjoyed the working environment and the support and advice from my colleagues which gave me the confidence to handle complex issues while providing insight of current trends and best practices in the supply chain industry.

Interns participated in a tour to enhance our understanding of loading and offloading operations and cargo aircraft configurations. I have been eagerly looking forward to this tour since my first day at work. It was my first time seeing and stepping onto a cargo aircraft and witnessing the loading process from the inside. I realized the importance of training for workers in different positions. These experiences were valuable and allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the actual operations in the aviation industry.

OOCL is one of the world’s largest container transportation, logistics and terminal companies. Rotating through various departments in OOCL, I came to understand the operations throughout their container shipping business. For me, the most exciting experience was a visit to the OOCL Egypt, one of OOCL’s big container ships. This valuable internship experience has broadened my horizons and raised my enthusiasm towards a future career in the maritime shipping industry. Interning in Singapore, I also got the chance to communicate with people from many different nationalities. This internship has not only consolidated what I learnt in HSUHK; It has also enhanced my interpersonal skills and sharped me into a well-rounded person.Wong Kwan Fong
