Mr LAM Wan Choi (林運財先生)

Mr. Lam Wan Choi is a seasoned Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) leader and Sustainability/ESG advisor with more than thirty years’ professional experience in management and consulting of environmental and social risks for multinational corporations.  He has worked for such global companies including General Electric (GE), British Petroleum (BP) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) listed Johnson Electric Group since the 1990s.   The geographical span of his career extends globally from Hong Kong, mainland China, Asia Pacific, to Europe and Americas.  After retiring from his corporate life in 2022, Mr. Lam has been serving as a senior advisor for Chinese companies investing overseas, providing ESG advisory for the automotive, chemicals, mining, manufacturing and various sectors in Europe, Scandinavia, Iberia, China and Africa.  Mr. Lam was formerly a Principal Consultant in ERM and is currently the Managing Partner of Greenment International Consulting Co. Limited.   In 2022, he had contributed to the paper on the ESG Compliance & Risk Management for Overseas Development published by the Beijing New Century Multinational Corporations Research Institute, which shares the experience of ESG development work overseas.

 

Mr. Lam is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Qualified Environmental Professionals (HKIQEP) and the Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment (HKIEIA), and has served in the accreditation team of the HKIQEP verifying environmental and sustainability courses provided by various tertiary institutions.  Mr. Lam was formerly an Advisory Board Member for the association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM), a trade association promoting Responsible Care/EHS/Sustainability excellence for the Chemical Industry in China.  He is also a Member of the American Conference of Governmental Industry Hygienists (ACGIH), a Registered Safety OƯicer in Hong Kong, and has been a visiting lecturer, course developer and external examiner teaching environmental, EHS and sustainability courses for universities in Hong Kong (including the former Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) etc).
