Class of 2025

Graduating from the Global Supply Chain Management programme at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong is an important milestone in both my academic and professional journey. Beyond classroom theory, the MSc-GSCM programme provided invaluable hands-on experiences through their Professional Development Activities. Visits to Cathay Pacific City, Cainiao Smart Gateway, and HACTL air cargo terminal offered real-world insights into how innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation are reshaping global supply chains. The valuable insights I gained not only inspired my thinking on intelligent manufacturing and green supply chains but also provided inspiration for optimizing my company’s strategic positioning in the international market. With the knowledge and vision I have acquired, I am more confident than ever in leading my company forward in the rapidly evolving global market.

The Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management programme at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong has profoundly shaped my professional perspective. Through the programme’s curriculum in logistics and law, procurement strategies, and supply chain data analytics, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of modern supply chain systems. The programme’s unique strength lies in its balanced approach—the integration of theoretical frameworks with practical applications, which I was able to apply immediately during my logistics internship. Beyond academics, the programme cultivated my analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. My time at the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong in the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management programme was both rewarding and inspiring. Although I have worked in the field of supply chain management for more than 10 years, after completing the Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management program, I have deeply appreciated the practicality and cutting-edge nature of this program. Many knowledge and theories learnt are applicable in real work scenarios. The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong not only teaches us professional theories, but also combines theoretical knowledge with case studies and arranges many site visits which are truly connect theory with practice, achieving the combination of production and learning. Students’ learning of knowledge theory is more solid, comprehensive, and closer to actual combat.

Studying at HSUHK has been an invaluable experience in my life. The digital development of supply chain is happening every moment, and understanding how practitioners can help traditional supply chains in their transformation is a key area of our learning. The GSCM teaching team has equipped us with methods for data processing and analysis at every stage of the supply chain—from procurement and production to sales and logistics, so that we can grasp the whole supply chain process from the whole picture. In addition to the theoretical content, the MSc-GSCM Programme also provides many interesting professional development activities and projects. For instance, site visits to the Hong Kong Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal, CaiNiao, and other cargo transportation hubs. During our study tour in Singapore, we visited PSA and the DHL Southeast Asia hub. This blend of theory and practical experience facilitates a comprehensive and systematic approach to learning.

Time flies!  I’m thrilled to have completed my part-time postgraduate degree in the MSc-GSCM programme at HSUHK. The countless memorable learning experiences over the past two years fully met my expectations before admission. I can confidently say that I am now equipped with multidisciplinary skills and mindsets in the electronic products supply chain industry. This has greatly helped me manage daily job projects amidst an uncertain global environment and development opportunities. I am grateful for the invaluable knowledge gained throughout this journey, not only did I learn comprehensive supply chain theory, but I also developed decision-making and problem-solving skills under using data analytics and cutting-edge technologies in various business cases. The scientific and highly interrelated GSCM programme provides me with lots of senses in analyzing and decision-making models. The immersive learning experience and practical case analysis method are very helpful for me to have a deeper understanding of knowledge and gain a more profound comprehension of GSCM. Systematic study at HSUHK has made up for the knowledge blind area in my previous work, this is not just learning, but also an opportunity for career promotion, making me more professional and have a promising future. Through this course, I improved my knowledge and skills, found optimal supply chain solutions and industry best practices. The programme is always at the forefront of the industry, keeping pace with the times and is never limited to textbooks. The Programme also broadened my vision, clarified my goals, and built my confidence. Definitely, this is a valuable learning experience that has benefited me a lot.

Embarking on a part-time master’s degree while working presented its unique set of challenges, but it also offered numerous rewards. One of the valuable lessons I learned during my part-time master’s degree was the importance of setting realistic goals. With limited time available, it was essential to prioritize my studies and identify achievable milestones, helping me stay motivated and focused. Networking and building relationships with fellow students and faculty members were also instrumental in my study journey. Collaborating with like-minded individuals and leveraging their expertise helped me gain new perspectives and insights. The MSc-GSCM programme has allowed me to learn how the supply chain is closely related to our daily life through a large amount of theory and case studies. I also have the opportunity to explore the most cutting-edge technologies and concepts in the field of supply chain. Additionally, through the module of decision modelling and strategic procurement, I understand more about the application of computer science and economics in the supply chain field. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the teachers and classmates for their help and guidance throughout this year.

Getting a Master’s degree is one of my life goals and a good way to improve my career path. Thankfully, I made the right choice to study this practical programme that provided new insights into my life. I enjoyed the small class teaching here since we could have more time and opportunities to ask questions and interact with our experienced professors. Studying at The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong was a wonderful experience for me who just finished my bachelor’s degree. The GSCM programme provided many opportunities for me to discuss and complete projects with classmates from different industries, backgrounds, and age groups. The perspective shared by my classmates and teachers helped me gain a better understanding of the industry. In the past year, I lived in the student dormitory. It’s really unforgettable to have fun and enjoy time with my schoolmates. I am very grateful to all the professors in the programme for inspiring me about my future and career development. Studying in the MSC-GSCM programme has been a rewarding journey for me during these 2 years. It is not an easy task for a Part time student who has already left school for more than 20 years. However, the support from my classmates and the University was really helpful and guided me back to the track for learning. My classmates come from different areas of the industry, their experience and knowledge have broadened my vision to consider the issue and solve the problem in different ways. The professors in the programme always make the classes interesting and fun. It was not easy to complete all the courses especially during pandemic, most of the classes were conducted remotely. The learning experience throughout these 2 years is meaningful and unforgettable.

I am happy to be part of HSUHK for my Postgraduate degree in Global Supply Chain Management. I gained an in-depth understanding of the contemporary supply chain concepts, trends, challenges, technologies and efficiently managing the supply chain at different levels. 2020 was a difficult year for everyone. For the past ten years, I have been working in supply chain industry. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, I lost many business opportunities. Therefore, I chose to study the Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management programme offered by the HSUHK, to learn more about Supply Chain Management. The programme helped me understand how to manage the enterprise from different perspectives of the supply chain. During this year of study, I identified my strengths and weaknesses, and also redefined my career direction, giving my company a place in the supply chain industry.

To finish a master’s course is never easy for a fresh graduate like me, but I am glad that I met groupmates who worked hard with me and teachers that always support our learning. We worked hard together which made me gain a lot of new knowledge and experience that I did not expect. Apart from knowledge, I have learned perseverance. There was a time that I thought I couldn’t keep on working because of some complicated concept I have never touched before, but my classmates encouraged me to move forward. I want to thank all the teachers for making classes more interesting and preparing the teaching materials under this pandemic situation. This will definitely become a meaningful and unforgettable memory in my learning life.
