Career Talk – Graduate and Internship Opportunities at Cathay Pacific
On 7 November 2024, our department hosted an engaging Career Talk – Graduate and Internship Opportunities at Cathay Pacific, which attracted over 60 students to join. The event featured invited guests Ms. Eliss Chau (Assistant Manager of Talent Acquisition) and Mr. Nicholas Leung (Assistant Manager of Talent Management) from Cathay Pacific to introduce the Graduate and Internship Opportunities to us.
Eliss and Nicholas introduced the airline’s new Graduate Trainee Programme and Internship Programme in the Cargo Service, IT, and Engineering fields. They provided valuable tips on applying for the Graduate Trainee Programme, emphasizing the importance of tailored applications, teamwork, and the interpersonal skills demonstrated in interviews.
A special highlight of the event was the participation of our alumna, Anthea Chan (BBA-SCM graduate and current Graduate Trainee, 2024 Cohort). Anthea shared her firsthand experiences in the Graduate Trainee Programme, detailing her roles and the skills she has developed during her time at Cathay Pacific. She discussed the professional knowledge acquired during her university studies that has proven essential in her job and offered insights into the challenges and rewards of the trainee experience.
The event provided students with a deeper understanding of career opportunities at Cathay Pacific, and the students who attended were thrilled to ask more about the opportunities.
