First Kick-off Meeting for the SCM Mentorship Scheme 2025/26
The first kick-off meeting for the SCM Mentorship Scheme 2025/26 was successfully held on 24 January 2026. The event brought together mentors from diverse professional backgrounds and enthusiastic student mentees, marking the beginning of a year-long journey of guidance, growth, and collaboration.
Dr Danny Ho began the meeting with a warm welcome to all participants, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the support that mentors have generously provided to the SCM Department. He encouraged mentees to actively engage in the scheme and make the most of the valuable learning opportunities ahead. Following his remarks, mentors introduced themselves, fostering a sense of community among the group.
An ice-breaking activity led by Mr Timothy Chau added energy and interaction to the session, allowing mentors and mentees to get to know one another better. After the activity, mentees shared their expectations for the scheme, expressing their eagerness to gain deeper insight into the industry through meaningful conversations with their mentors.
In recognition of their invaluable contributions, Dr Danny Ho presented certificates of appreciation and souvenirs to all mentors, acknowledging their continuous support and dedication to nurturing SCM talent. The event concluded with a mentor–mentee exchange session, during which mentees discussed their aspirations and set realistic goals with guidance from their mentors.
The mentorship scheme offers students an invaluable opportunity to gain knowledge, industry exposure, encouragement, and inspiration. We look forward to witnessing the rewarding experiences and professional growth that this year’s mentorship journey will bring to all participants.
