SCM Mentorship Scheme 2024/25 – Visit to Kerry Cargo Centre
On 22 May 2025, a group of BBA-SCM and BMSIM students took part in a company visit organized under the SCM Mentorship Scheme. Accompanied by Dr Danny Ho and Mr Timothy Chau from the SCM Department, the students visited the Kerry Cargo Centre in Kwai Chung. Operated by Kerry Logistics Network (KLN), a leading Asia-based global third-party logistics provider, the centre offered a firsthand look into a highly diversified logistics operation with extensive regional coverage.
The visit was made possible thanks to the generous support of Ms Daphne Chan and Ms Kathy Ng, who provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore various aspects of warehouse operations. During the tour, Gordon from KLN’s HR department introduced the company’s internship and management trainee programmes, offering insightful guidance on job preparation and career development in the logistics industry.
Supervisors from different units walked the students through real-world warehousing processes, from order receiving to dispatching, across a range of storage environments, including ambient conditions and cold storage facilities reaching as low as -45°C. This immersive experience deepened the students’ understanding of warehouse operations, making it a truly memorable “four-seasons-in-one-day” journey.
To conclude the visit, we presented souvenirs to Daphne and Kathy as a token of appreciation and gathered for a group photo, marking the end of an enriching and inspiring day.
