Visit to Cainiao Smart Gateway
A visit to Cainiao Smart Gateway was held on 20 March 2025, with 42 students from the MSc in Global Supply Chain Management Programme (MSc-GSCM) attended the visit. Cainiao Smart Gateway is a smart logistics center located in the Hong Kong International Airport. With its prime location and advanced logistics technology, it is a world-class premium warehouse in Asia that connects the Greater Bay Area to the rest of the world.
Through the visit and sharing by the company representatives, students gained a deeper understanding of the operational models of smart logistics and the latest developments and trends in the supply chain industry. In addition, students also had the opportunity to learn about how automation strengthens cost-effectiveness, storage density and productivity by visiting the AS/RS facility, thus gaining insights into the logistics flow.
