Visit to Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) of Hong Kong International Airport
A Headquarter visit to Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) was held on 25 April 2024. As one of the international leading aviation hubs, not only retaining the regulatory role in aviation safety in Hong Kong, but the CAD also provides air navigation services for the flights at the Hong Kong International Airport and in the Hong Kong Flight Information Region.
27 students from the BBA(Hons) in Supply Chain Management Programme attended the visit, and they were given the opportunity to look at the historical and latest development of the airport terminal and runway designs in Hong Kong, as well as the technological enhancement of the Air Traffic Management System in maintaining the air traffic safety in actual operation handled by the air traffic controller. Ensuring accurate and efficient aeronautical information service, and compliance with international standards in aircraft and operational safety are the key objectives and missions. Besides, sharing the functional details of internal departments to students, it helps inspiring them to develop their careers in aviation industry. Students gained a lot of valuable internal and industrial knowledge of aviation from the visit.
