Webinar and Online VR Sharing Tour: Supply Chain and Air Cargo Dynamics – Recent Pandemic Issues and Technology Development Trend

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers – Logistics and Transport Division (HKIE-LTD) and Virtual Reality Centre (VRC) of The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) jointly organised a webinar and online VR sharing tour on 7 May 2020. Distinguished speakers Mr. Cliff Sullivan, Immediate-past Chairman of HAFFA and Ir. Steward Chun, General Manager, (Technology & Quality Control), Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) shared a presentation about impact and outlook of COVID-19 outbreak towards supply chain and aviation as well as recent technology trends for DG handling for air cargo terminal operations. A VR sharing tour was then followed by the two presentations. It was conducted by Dr. Eugene Wong, Director of VRC, HSUHK. The event was carried out online. Over 160 people participated in the event via Zoom. VR CAVE, Head-Mounted Display devices, and PC VR versions were demonstrated to the participants. A panel discussion and Q&A session were carried out at the end of the session. The response was overwhelming and positive.
The seminar was supported by the Research Grants Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (UGC/IIDS14/B03/19).
