One-Day Technical Visit to Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge facilities, Free Trade Zones and Zhuhai Terminals

The $20-billion Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) has been completed, an achievement that realizes the world's longest sea-crossing bridge. As such, a one-day technical exchange was organized on 22 November 2018. The visit focused on the Boundary Crossing Facilities of Hong Kong and Zhuhai located in the artificial island in HZMB as well as the Free Trade Zone and container terminals in Zhuhai.

The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong jointly organized the one-day site tour with the Hong Kong Sea Transport and Logistics Association and Hong Kong Shippers’ Council. The event was also supported by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Hong Kong Institute of Engineers Logistics and Transportation Division. A group of 40 people with representatives from overseas delegates, industry practitioners, academic scholars and government officials met with Zhuhai delegates and exchanged views on the transport and logistics development in Hong Kong and Zhuhai region. In addition to the site visit, a dinner was also held.
