SCM Mentorship Scheme 2023/24
The first kick-off meeting of the
SCM Mentorship Scheme 2023/24 was successfully held on 20 January 2024. We were
delighted to welcome experienced professionals and SCM alumni as mentors, as
well as mentees who are ready to embark on a year-long mentorship journey.
Dr Danny Ho kicked off the meeting
with a warm welcome to our mentors and mentees, expressing gratitude for the
mentors’ generous support to the SCM Department over the years. Dr Ho also
encouraged all mentees to make the most of the scheme. Mentors were then
invited to briefly introduce themselves to all mentees. An ice-breaking game
led by Mr Timothy Chau followed to help participants get to know each other.
After the warm-up game, Mr Felix
Lam, Head of Sustainability at the Green Council, who has been a mentor in the
Mentorship Scheme for years, shared practical tips and advice to the mentees. Following
Felix insightful sharing, Ms Alison Cheng, a BBA-SCM graduate who participated
in the Scheme last year, shared her own takeaways and experiences, providing
valuable insights to the mentees.
Dr Danny Ho presented certificates of
appreciation and souvenirs to all mentors expressing gratitude for their unwavering
support to the SCM Department. The event concluded with a mentor-mentee exchange
session, during which mentors and mentees exchange contacts and arranged their next
meeting.
Mentoring is valuable opportunity
for students to gain knowledge, experience, encouragement, and inspiration. We
hope that all students have a fruitful and remarkable mentorship journey.
