SCM Team Won the 2nd Runner-up in the CILTHK Student Day 2022 Competition

A five-member HSUHK team consisting of WOO Man Qing, WU Kwo, LI Uen Shan Chloe, CHAN Fu Wa, CHENG Yan Lok from BBA-SCM programme was coached and supervised by Dr Eugene Wong and Dr Helen Ma. With their excellent presentation and impressive analyses on the topic entitled “Assess the opportunities and challenges of autonomous driving in Hong Kong, with reference to the recent report released from a car research facility in China”, the HSUHK team was awarded the 2nd runner-up. The champion and the 1st runner-up went to the HKU team and the PolyU team respectively.

The SCM Mentorship Scheme aims at providing opportunities for BBA-SCM and BMSIM students to advance their professional development through learning from industry experts. This time, our students got a valuable opportunity to prepare for their future career through learning from our scheme mentor Mr. Leo Lo (CEO, TecRetail Ltd.) who delivered an online talk on the “Journey from Freelance to APAC-Regional Company” on 27 May 2022.
“Imperative Need of Land Logistics Industry in Northern Metropolis and Tuen Mun West” Press Conference

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong (CILTHK) and Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain (PRISC) have collaborated to conduct a study on the logistics land use in Hong Kong in early 2022. The team has published a report titled “Imperative Need of Land Logistics Industry in Northern Metropolis and Tuen Mun West” and conducted a press conference on 19th May 2022 in the Legislative Council Complex. Six newspaper articles were published in Wen Wei Po, Oriental Daily News, InMedia.net, Lion Rock Daily, and Hong Kong Economic Journal.
International Forum on Emerging extended reality and innovative technologies for smart transport and logistics

An international plenary forum about “Emerging extended reality and innovative technologies for smart transport and logistics” was held on 19 May 2022. It is the closing plenary session of the 11th International Forum on Shipping, Ports and Airports (IFSPA) 2022, with over 380 participants, including professors, scholars, industry practitioners, staff and students, from over 10 countries have attended the forum.
BBA-SCM students were awarded the certificate of merit in the ISM-HK Student Case Competition 2022

In March 2022, three Year-3 students from the Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management (BBA-SCM) programme formed a team called “Track n Go” and participated in the Institute for Supply Management Hong Kong (ISM-HK) Student Case Competition 2022. The team “Track n Go” outperformed 70 teams from different universities in Hong Kong and were awarded the certificate of merit. Only top 20 percent of 88 teams with 350 student participants entered the semi-final stage. And the team “Track n Go” was one of them.

On 31 March 2022, the first mentor’s sharing talk was held successfully online. Our Scheme mentor and alumni, Mr. Eric Li, Senior Solutions Manager, Shenzhen 4PX Express Co. Ltd., was the speaker of the talk on the topic of “Cross border e-commerce is changing the international logistics market”.
